The Mount Dora Ghost Walk has been continuously active since its creation by Hector De Leon and Andrew Mullen on October 2008. This event consist of a half hour indoors live parlor and marionette theater performances immediately followed by a lantern guided 3/4 mile walking tour through Old Mount Dora. Total time is approximately 1 1/2 hour and the shows are regularly scheduled monthly, usually the first and third weekends of the month. This show has become a popular tradition and the organizers generously donate all proceeds from it to benefit the Mount Dora Historical Society.
A very integral part of our theatrical concept from the very beginning, the puppet theater has been a landmark achievement among our productions. Started by Hector De Leon at the same time with the Ghost Walk, it has a repertoire of original material and characters. The productions are linked directly to the flow of the Ghost Walk, but each can be preformed individually without losing context. As this venue matured and gained exposure, its impact as a program standing by itself is now directed by the 30 years of puppetry experience of Thomas Davis. Our company is member of the Puppeteers of America and Unima (Union Internationale de la Marionette).

We write the stories and then we tell them, or we tell the stories and then we write them. We love to tell stories and read stories. We are storytellers and our repertoire is as wide as your imagination, although we prefer to work directly from our original material. Among our group we have enough talent to keep a stroytellig venue any day of the week.

Our diverse program offers unique elements that sets us apart from among performers within our field. Another theatrical form defining our style is the performance of magic routines as part of our stories, and also our capacity to present individual shows as a sole venue. We specialize in Parlor and Stage Magic with a macabre and comical twist. Performances can be adjusted for all ages. Our resident magicians Borgia & Torquemada are members of the Society of American Magicians.

Zombie Crawls, invasions or attacks, if you want to call it this way, is a world wide phenomenon where zombie enthusiasts gather on a predetermined location with the purpose of re-enacting an almost apocalyptic version of what the world would look like if suddenly infected by hordes of flesh hungry living dead walking all over the place. These events usually take place around crowded events and the largest reported included 1780 participants wearing zombie costumes and make-up. Mount Dora had its first Zombie parade during the 2009 Mount Dora Art Festival, and it is rumored that more will be coming soon...
